Simple Facebook Like is a Joomla module that enables users to easily integrate Facebook Like buttons into their Joomla websites. This documentation covers the installation, configuration, and usage of the Simple Facebook Like module.

Installation

Downloading the Extension

Email: After you purchase the extension from our store, you will receive an email containing a link to download the extension.

Store: Alternatively, you can download the extension from the "Downloads" section in our store. If you are a new user, you need to create an account using the same email address you used for the purchase.

Unzipping the Package

Use any file unzipper tool or WinRAR to unzip the SimpleFacebookLike_UNZIP.zip package. After unzipping, you will find the following contents:

• mod_fblike_X.x.zip: This is the installation file compatible with Joomla 4.x, 5.x, and 6.x.
• ReadMe.txt: Contains vital information about the current version of the extension.

Installing the Extension

To install the extension, log in to the backend of your Joomla website.

• For Joomla 4, 5 & 6: Navigate to System > Install > Extensions (or Extensions > Manage > Install). Click on the "Upload Package File" tab. Click "Browse" to select the installation file (mod_fblike_X.x.zip), then click "Upload and Install."

A success message will be displayed once the installation is complete.

Configuration

After installation, the module needs to be configured to suit your requirements. Access the module settings by navigating to Extensions > Modules, and find Simple Facebook Like in the list.

Basic Settings

• Page URL: Select the URL of the page.
  • Current Page: Uses the current page URL.
  • Custom URL: Allows you to specify a custom URL to like.
• Custom URL to Like: Enter the complete URL to like (shown only if Page URL is set to Custom URL). Example: https://example.com
• Layout Style: Choose the layout style of the button.
  • Options include: Standard, Button, Button Count, and Box Count.
• Action Type: Select the action to be taken.
  • Options are: Like or Recommend.
• Button Size: Select the size of the button.
  • Options are: Large or Small.
• Show Share Button: Show or hide the share button.
  • Options are: Show or Hide.

Advanced Settings

• Width (px): Specify the width of the button area in pixels (default is 500).
• Facebook App ID: Optional. Enter your Facebook App ID for better analytics and customization.
• Language/Locale: Select the language for Facebook buttons. Choose from 10+ languages or set to Auto-detect from Joomla to automatically use your site's language.
• Module Class Suffix: Enter your desired module suffix for custom CSS styling (optional).

Manual Updates

Note: The module now supports Joomla 4, 5, and 6. Support for Joomla 3.x has been discontinued as of version 1.6.
