Easy Map 1.0 embeds maps in Joomla articles and module positions. Choose Google Maps or OpenStreetMap. Editors use a visual button or a one-line {easymap} void shortcode. Saved presets let one address update everywhere.

The package installs four extensions:

• Content - Easy Map: parses {easymap} shortcodes in articles.
• Button - Easy Map: toolbar modal to search, pin, preview, and insert.
• Module - Easy Map: contact and sidebar maps from a preset or custom address.
• System - Easy Map: provider defaults, optional Google API key, consent mode, and Locations manager.

Before you install

• Joomla: 4.x, 5.x, or 6.x

• Google Maps API key: optional. Required only for Google JavaScript maps, Places autocomplete, and Google geocoding

OpenStreetMap mode

No Google key required. Set default mode to OSM in System - Easy Map, or use mode="osm" on individual shortcodes.

Step 1: Download

After purchase, download EasyMap_UNZIP.zip from your email or the Downloads section.

Step 2: Unzip

1. Extract EasyMap_UNZIP.zip.
2. Install pkg_easymap_1.0.0.zip.

Step 3: Install in Joomla

1. System > Install > Extensions
2. Upload the package zip
3. System > Maintenance > Clear Cache

1. Open System > Plugins > System - Easy Map.
2. Choose default map mode: Google or OpenStreetMap.
3. If using Google, paste your API key and enable the required Google APIs.
4. Save a test location under Locations (slug hq).
5. Edit an article. Click Easy Map in the toolbar, or add {easymap preset="hq"}.
6. Publish Module - Easy Map in a sidebar if needed.

Button - Easy Map adds an Easy Map control to supported editors.

1. Search an address or enter coordinates.
2. Click the map to fine-tune the pin.
3. Pick provider, zoom, ratio, marker, and caption.
4. Click Insert to add {easymap} at the cursor.

Module - Easy Map uses the same renderer as the content plugin. Layouts: map only, map + address, map + contact card, map + directions button.

• Shortcode shows as plain text: enable Content - Easy Map and clear cache.
• Google map empty: check API key, billing, and enabled Google APIs.
• OSM map empty: confirm mode="osm" and tile URL in System - Easy Map.
• Editor search does nothing: add a Google key and enable Places API, or use coordinates / OSM in the modal.
