Razorpay account

A free Razorpay account is enough to start in test mode.

Create the account

1. Sign up at razorpay.com with your business email and mobile number.
2. Test mode works before KYC.
3. To take real money, finish activation in the Dashboard: business type, PAN, bank account, GSTIN if you have one, and your website URL. Razorpay reviews the site, so it should show products, prices, contact details, and policies for terms, privacy, refunds, and shipping.

Test keys

1. In the Razorpay Dashboard, switch to Test Mode.
2. Open Account & Settings, then API Keys. On older dashboards this is Settings, then API Keys. Click Generate Test Key.
3. Copy the Key ID (it starts with rzp_test_) and the Key Secret. Razorpay shows the secret only once.

Live keys

After the account is activated, switch to Live Mode and generate a key the same way. Live Key IDs start with rzp_live_.

Keep the Key Secret and webhook secrets private. Do not email them, paste them into tickets, or put them in screenshots. If a secret leaks, regenerate it in the Razorpay Dashboard and update the payment method.
