Refunds
J2Commerce refunds use the shop's own Refund payment action on the order screen. J2Commerce passes the request to the plugin, which forwards it to Razorpay. J2Commerce sends the amount in the store's base currency, and the plugin converts it to the order's currency before calling Razorpay. Any amount equal to or above what's left is refunded as the full remainder. Each refund is added to the order history with its Razorpay refund ID. After a full refund, the order takes Status after full refund. With Automatic, the plugin looks for an enabled status named Refunded or of type refunded, and a stock J2Commerce install may not have one. Refunds made in the Razorpay Dashboard arrive through refund.processed and are added to J2Commerce's payment ledger as reversals, partial ones included.
Refunds use the J2Commerce Refund payment action on the order screen.
- Refund the full amount, or enter a smaller amount. An amount equal to or above what is left is a full refund of the remainder.
- Each refund is written to the J2Commerce payment ledger and the order history, with the Razorpay refund ID.
- After a full refund, the order moves to the status in Status after full refund.
A fresh J2Commerce install may have no Refunded status. Automatic looks for an enabled status named Refunded. If it finds none, the order keeps its current status. Create one under J2Commerce order statuses, then leave the setting on Automatic or pick Refunded. Dashboard refunds are recorded through refund.processed.
Razorpay returns the money to the original payment method. UPI refunds usually arrive within minutes to a few days. Cards and netbanking take 5 to 7 working days, according to Razorpay.
