  • How do I show a login button?

    • Add {elp-login} to an article or Custom HTML module, or link with href="#elp-popup" / your Extra Link Selector.

  • What happens to {elp-login} after the user logs in?

    • It swaps to the logged-in display: optional greeting, menu/module/position (if configured), and logout — similar to SCLogin.

  • Can this replace SCLogin with a Helix logged-in usermenu?

    • Yes. Use After Login Show = Module or Module position, and point it at your usermenu module or logged-in-usermenu position.

  • Which shortcodes are available?

    • {elp-login}, {elp-logout}, {elp-username}, {elp-name}, {elp-greeting="Hello,"}, {elp-usermenu}, {elp-loggedin}.

  • How do I match my website button colour?

    • In Styling Options set Accent, Button Background, Button Hover, Input Focus, and Link Hover to your brand colour.

  • Modern vs Legacy — which should I use?

    • Use Modern (2026) for the new UI. Choose Legacy only if you need the classic look.

  • Why do two login popups open on the same click?

    • Another extension (e.g. Login Popup Pro) may share the same selector such as a[href="#login"]. Set Easy Login Popup Extra Link Selector to something unique like .open-elp-login and use #elp-popup.

  • Can I open the popup from an existing menu link?

    • Yes. Give the link a class or hash, then set Extra Link Selector / Login URL Hash accordingly.

  • Does it support Two-Factor Authentication?

    • Yes. Enable Show Secret Key Field when MFA methods are available.

  • How do I force HTTPS on the form?

    • Enable HTTPS for Form (usesecure) in Basic settings.

  • Can I hide Remember Me or Register?

    • Yes — use the Login Form Fields toggles for Remember Me, Forgot Password, Forgot Username, Register, and TFA.

  • Is there a mobile-friendly layout?

    • Yes. Set Mobile Layout to Sheet for a bottom sheet, or Center for a floating modal.

  • Where do I put shortcodes — in CSS?

    • No. Only in content: articles, Custom HTML modules, etc. Use Extra CSS only for styling.

  • Is Easy Login Popup compatible with Joomla 5 and 6?

    • Yes — Joomla 4, 5, and 6.

  • The popup style did not update after I changed colours

    • Clear Joomla cache and hard-refresh the browser. Confirm the plugin is Enabled and you saved the correct instance.
