Image Handling

Image Import Options

HTML Import Pro can automatically handle images found in imported content.

Image Import Settings
  • Import Images: Enable/disable image downloading
  • Image Folder: Destination folder (default: images/imported)
  • Convert to WebP: Automatically convert images to WebP format
How Image Import Works
  1. HTML content is scanned for <img> tags
  2. Each image URL is downloaded to your server
  3. Images are saved to the configured folder
  4. Image paths in content are updated to local paths
  5. Original external URLs are replaced
WebP Conversion

When enabled, images are converted to WebP format:

  • Smaller file sizes (typically 25-35% smaller)
  • Maintains image quality
  • Requires PHP GD extension with WebP support
  • Original format used as fallback if conversion fails
Supported Image Formats
  • JPEG/JPG
  • PNG
  • GIF
  • WebP (passthrough)
Image Path Structure

Downloaded images are organized as:

images/imported/[article-alias]/image-name.webp
Troubleshooting Images
  • Images not downloading: Check if source allows hotlinking
  • WebP not working: Verify GD extension has WebP support
  • Broken images: Source images may require authentication
  • Large images: Increase PHP memory_limit if needed
