Which Joomla versions does Social CSS Icons 2.0 support?

Version 2.0 supports Joomla 4, Joomla 5, and Joomla 6. PHP 8.0 or newer is recommended.

Which icon library does the module use?

Version 2.0 uses Font Awesome 6, the icon library already bundled with Joomla core, so no extra icon download is added. It does not load jQuery or another frontend framework.

What is the difference between Profile Links and Share mode?

Profile Links send visitors to the URLs you enter for each network. Share the current page builds sharing destinations automatically from the current page title and URL, and also supports Native Share and Copy Link.

Which layouts and dock positions are available?

Choose Inline Row, Labelled Grid, or Fixed Floating Dock. Docks can sit at left-middle, right-middle, bottom-left, bottom-centre, or bottom-right.

How do I make a dock stick flush to the screen edge?

Set Edge offset to 0. Optionally turn off Dock background panel for a flat sticky icon bar. Collapsed edge tabs always pin flush to the edge.

Why does Copy Link show “Copied!”?

After a successful clipboard copy, the button briefly turns green, swaps to a checkmark, and shows Copied! as visible confirmation. An ARIA live region also announces the result for screen readers.

Can I hide individual social items without deleting them?

Yes. Set Enabled to No on any item. The item is excluded from the frontend, and its administrator fields collapse so the form stays compact.

How do collapsible docks work?

Enable Collapsible dock to add a slim edge-tab toggle. Optionally start collapsed. The tab does not consume an icon slot, and when closed it sits flush against the screen edge.

What happens to docks on mobile?

Choose Move to Bottom Centre, Return to Page Flow, or Hide on Mobile. Bottom bars use safe-area spacing and can scroll internally without creating horizontal page overflow.

Why are tooltips appearing beside dock icons instead of above them?

On left and right docks, tooltips open toward the page so they are not clipped off the screen edge. Bottom docks keep tooltips above the icons.

Why is a brand icon missing (for example X, Threads, or Bluesky)?

The module uses the Font Awesome 6 build shipped with Joomla. If your template loads an older Font Awesome, some newer brand glyphs may not render. Update the template Font Awesome or rely on Joomla core assets.

How do I update from an older version?

Install the install package (the .zip inside your download) over the existing module. Review the new parameter tabs, save once, and clear all caches. Legacy size, colour, alignment, shape, and zoom values are mapped where possible.
