How it works
On every front-end HTML page, the plugin checks the finished HTML just before Joomla sends it to the browser:
- If the page has no
<table>, nothing else happens. That costs one quick text search. - Page-level rules, such as menu items and components, decide whether the page should be processed.
- Each table is checked against the table-level rules: ignore classes, menus, exclude and include selectors, scope, and layout tables.
- Each eligible table gets its layout, a wrapper and a few CSS classes.
- The stylesheet and a small style block built from your settings are added once, and only on pages where a table was processed.
The plugin never touches:
- Administrator pages, AJAX requests (
com_ajaxor XMLHttpRequest), orraw,json,feed,xmlandpdfoutput. - Anything inside
<script>,<style>,<textarea>,<template>,<noscript>,<pre>,<code>,<iframe>,<svg>,<math>or HTML comments. - Tables it can't read safely, such as unclosed or broken markup. These are left exactly as they are.
- Pages larger than the Page size limit.
If anything goes wrong while a page is processed, the page is sent unchanged.
