Troubleshooting

Nothing changes on my tables. Check that the plugin is enabled and Make tables responsive is set to Yes. Clear the Joomla cache and any page or CDN cache. Make sure you're testing below the Mobile breakpoint. Then turn on the HTML comment summary and check the page source to see why tables were skipped.

A table should be left alone. Add the class ert-ignore to the table or a wrapper around it, or add a selector to Never these tables.

I asked for cards, but the table scrolls. Cards need one header row, no merged cells and no nested tables. Otherwise the table scrolls so it doesn't break. The diagnostics comment shows cards fell back to scroll. For a table like this, consider Priority columns, if it has no merged cells, or keep scrolling.

Priority columns don't hide anything. No columns are set to hide for that table. Add data-ert-hide="3" or ert-hide-3, or a rule on the Priority columns tab. Make sure your selector matches the table.

Tablets still show the full table. Raise the Mobile breakpoint. For example, 820 includes most tablets in portrait mode.

My editor removes the classes or data attributes. Allow the class attribute (and data-*, if you use them) on tables. In JCE, check Editor Profiles › Editor Parameters › Cleanup & Output. In TinyMCE, check the Prohibited Elements and Extended Elements options of the editor plugin. Classes such as ert-hide-3 are a good alternative to data-ert-hide.

My template's table styles changed. The plugin wraps cell content in .ert-cv. Change template rules like td > p to td p. See Styling and template compatibility.

Edge shadows don't show. The table or its cells have their own background color, which covers the shadow.

Tables in my mega menu changed. Make sure Skip tables in menus is on. If your menu uses a class that isn't on the list, add that class to Never these tables.

Another responsive-tables plugin is installed. Turn off other responsive-table plugins or template features to avoid doubled styling.
