Easy Responsive Tables

Targeting: where the plugin works

You can limit where the plugin runs in several ways. Page-level rules are checked first, then table-level rules.

Include and exclude selectors

Only these tables and Never these tables take simple CSS selectors, separated by commas or new lines. A selector matches the table itself or any element around it.

These selector forms work:

  • A tag: table
  • A class: .prices
  • An ID: #sidebar
  • Compounds: table.prices, div#main.wide
  • Descendants, separated by spaces: #content table.specs, div#main .specs

Attribute selectors ([role=grid]) and the combinators >, + and ~ are not supported. Selectors the plugin can't read are ignored.

Examples:

Only these tables: .item-page, #pricing
Never these tables: .calendar, #sidebar, table.jcalpro

Exclusions always win over inclusions.

Article content only

Set Process tables in to Article content only to process only tables in Joomla articles and inside the elements listed in Article containers. This leaves tables in modules and other components alone, unless they have a layout class.

Set Menu items to Only the selected to run the plugin just on those pages, or to All except the selected to skip them. Pick the items in Selected menu items, which are grouped by menu. If you choose a mode but don't select any items, the rule has no effect.

Components

Set Components to Only the selected or All except the selected, then list components in Listed components. You can name a whole component or a single view:

com_content, com_contact.contact, com_virtuemart.cart
Skipping layout tables

With Skip layout tables on, which is the default, the plugin leaves alone tables that aren't real data tables:

  • Tables with role="presentation" or role="none".
  • Empty tables.
  • Tables with a single cell.

This protects older templates and email-style layouts that use tables for positioning.

Skipping menus

With Skip tables in menus on, which is the default, tables inside navigation are left alone. That covers tables inside:

  • <nav> elements, or elements with role="navigation" or role="menubar".
  • Elements whose class starts with one of: sp-megamenu, maximenu, dj-megamenu, djmegamenu, mega-menu, megamenu, tm-megamenu, uk-navbar, navbar, mod-menu, nav-menu, offcanvas-menu or accessibleMegaMenu.

This covers SP Page Builder and Helix, Maximenu CK, DJ-MegaMenu, UIkit and similar menus.
