Use {etooltip content="Tip text"}Trigger phrase{/etooltip} in articles or custom HTML.

Optional attributes include theme, position, animation, link, color, and class.

Which tip themes are available?

Four themes are built in: Dark, Light, Glass, and Brand.

Set a site default in the plugin, or override with theme="light" (or another theme) on any shortcode.

Can I control where the tip appears?

Yes. Use position="top", bottom, left, right, or follow.

follow tracks the cursor; the other values anchor the tip to the trigger.

How do hover and click activation work?

In plugin settings, choose Hover, Focus, or Click.

Click can pin a tip open; press Escape or click outside to dismiss. Linked tips pin first, then navigate on a second click or Ctrl/Cmd-click.

Can tip triggers open a URL?

Yes. Add link="https://example.com" to the shortcode.

The tip still opens on interaction; navigation follows your activation and pin behaviour.

Do I need jQuery?

No. Version 1.7 is vanilla JavaScript and does not use jQuery or TipTip.

Assets load through Joomla’s WebAssetManager.

Why does the tip pointer look different on light themes?

Light and glass tips use a solid white SVG pointer so the tip reads clearly on pale pages.

Dark and brand tips use a solid filled pointer that matches the tip background.

Is Easy Tooltip mobile-friendly?

Yes. Tips are responsive, stay within the viewport, and work with tap/click on touch devices.

Pinned tips can be dismissed with Escape or by tapping outside.
