FAQ and Support

  • Which Joomla versions are supported?

    • Joomla 4, 5, and 6. PHP 8.1 or later is recommended.

  • Does version 1.2 require jQuery?

    • No. Field removal and email-to-username handling run in PHP. There is no front-end script.

  • How do users log in after registration?

    • When Remove Username is enabled, they sign in with the same email address and their password.

  • What happens if I remove the name field?

    • The plugin builds a display name from the part of the email before the @ symbol.

  • Why is Remove Email Confirmation still listed?

    • It hides email2 when a template or older form still shows confirm-email. Stock Joomla 5 and 6 forms no longer include it.

  • Will my 1.1 settings survive the upgrade?

    • Yes. The same parameter names are kept for all four switches.

  • Where can I get help?
