How It Works

Form prepare

On com_users.registration, the plugin removes the fields you disabled and, where Joomla still expects a value, adds a hidden placeholder field.

Before validation

On submit, before Joomla validates the form, the plugin:

• Sets username from email when Remove Username is on
• Sets name from the email local-part when Remove Name is on
• Mirrors password1 to password2 when Remove Confirm Password is on
• Mirrors email1 to email2 when Remove Email Confirmation is on

Field order

When at least one simplify option is enabled, email is placed ahead of the password fields so the flow reads name (if shown), email, then password.

What stays untouched

Admin user forms, profile edit forms, and other components are not changed. Only the front-end registration form is simplified.
