Do I need both the module and the plugin?

No. Install the package once.

Use the module for module positions. Use the plugin for galleries inside articles.

Which Joomla versions are supported?

Joomla 4, 5, and 6.

Is the gallery mobile friendly?

Yes. Columns automatically reduce on tablet (2) and phone (1).

The lightbox supports swipe navigation and two-finger pinch-zoom, and scales to the browser height.

What image formats are supported?

JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP.

Optional WebP conversion is available for generated thumbnails and large images.

Where should I upload my photos?

Use Content -> Media and store files under images/.

Example: images/woomark-demo.

How do I create a gallery module?

Go to Content -> Site Modules -> New and choose Woomark Image Gallery.

Use the Content, Look & Feel, Lightbox, and Advanced tabs to configure it.

How do I add a gallery inside an article?

Enable the content plugin, then use the editor button or paste a shortcode.

Example: {wookmark folder="images/woomark-demo" columns="3" masonry="1"}

What does Hover Caption do?

Show on hover / focus reveals captions when visitors hover or keyboard-focus a tile.

Always visible keeps captions on. Hidden on thumbs still sends captions to the lightbox.

How do category filters work?

Set a category on each slide, or in folder mode use names like Nature__lake.jpg or put files in category subfolders.

Filter pills appear above the gallery when filters are enabled.

Does it support WebP for faster loading?

Yes. Enable WebP Thumbnails.

Cached files are stored under images/wookmark/.

Can I use a masonry layout?

Yes — masonry is on by default in 2.6 because that is Woomark’s signature look.

Turn it off for a uniform CSS grid.

Does the lightbox go fullscreen by default?

No. The default is a classic framed lightbox (Fancybox-style) that fits the browser height.

Native fullscreen is optional via the Lightbox tab if you want it.

Can I add video slides?

Yes — MP4, YouTube, or Vimeo on individual slides (or with the shortcode video attribute).

Use an image as the poster thumbnail.

What is Schema.org ImageGallery?

Optional SEO JSON-LD that describes your gallery to search engines.

Leave it on unless you already add your own schema elsewhere.

Will old settings still work after upgrading?

Yes. Legacy parameters such as checker, offset, caption_option, and imgcaption are mapped automatically.

Where are resized images stored?

Cached under images/wookmark/thumbnail/ and images/wookmark/large/ (plus webp/ when enabled).

Delete that folder to force thumbnails to rebuild.

Why does my shortcode show as plain text?

Enable the Content - Woomark Image Gallery plugin.

Check the syntax uses curly braces: {wookmark ...}.

Why is the lightbox not opening?

Hard-refresh the page, check the browser console for script conflicts, and confirm the gallery JavaScript is loading.

If a slide has an External Link, it opens that URL instead of the lightbox.
