Which Joomla versions does Easy Share Buttons support?
Easy Share Buttons 1.0 supports Joomla 4, 5, and 6 with a service provider, namespaced helper, Web Asset Manager assets, and PHP 8.1 or later recommended.
Does it load social tracking scripts?
No. Network buttons open share URLs. Copy and Print run on-page. No Facebook, X, or other SDK scripts are injected.
Are share counts included?
Not in version 1.0. Share counts usually depend on third-party APIs and conflict with the privacy-first design.
What is Native share?
Native share uses the browser Web Share API (navigator.share) when available, typically on phones. Unsupported browsers show a short toast instead of failing silently.
Which networks are available?
Native, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky, Email, Copy link, and Print.
Can I place buttons with a shortcode?
Yes. Use {easy_share} or {share}. Attributes can override layout, theme, display, shape, size, networks, and more. Use hide="1" to disable output on one article. Example: {easy_share theme="brand" shape="pill"}.
What is optional UTM?
When enabled, the plugin appends utm_source, utm_medium, and optional utm_campaign to the shared URL. No analytics JavaScript is added to the page.
Does Floating work on mobile?
On smaller screens Floating falls back to a normal wrapped row so it does not cover content.
What file do I download from the store?
Download EasyShareButtons_UNZIP.zip. Unzip it, then install plg_content_easy_share_1.0.1.zip from System > Install > Extensions.
