Troubleshooting / FAQ
I set Switch on to Yes, but visitors still see the normal site. Check the Emergency off card on the Dashboard. If the marker file is missing (for example after an FTP delete or the emergency link), click Re-create marker file.
I switched it on, but I still see my normal site. That's expected. You're bypassed as a Super User or by the admin session. Open the site in a private window or another browser.
I'm locked out of the front end.
- Log in at /administrator. The administrator is never blocked. With Let logged-in administrators through on (the default), your browser then sees the real front end, too.
- Or open your emergency link.
- Or delete plugins/system/easycomingsoon/ecs-active.txt by FTP.
The admin bypass doesn't work. Turn on Global Configuration → System → Track Session Metadata. The Dashboard warns you when it's off.
My IP whitelist doesn't match behind Cloudflare or a load balancer. Turn on Trust proxy headers and set Trusted proxies in front of the site to the number of proxies. Use Add my current IP on the Dashboard to see the IP the extension detects.
Payments aren't confirmed while the page is on. Your gateway is probably calling a SEF URL. See the payment gateway note in section 7.
My webhook or API returns 503.
Add its path (for example /my-webhook/) or a component rule to URLs that stay open. Rules for core content components are ignored on purpose (see the safety list).
The video doesn't play on my phone. That's by design. Phones (767 px and narrower), Save-Data and reduced-motion visitors get the poster image.
Auto-reply emails don't arrive. - Check Global Configuration → Server → Mail and send a test mail. - Check the Joomla logs. - Signups are saved either way.
Does it change .htaccess? No, never.
Will Google drop my site?
A 503 with Retry-After is the standard signal for "temporarily down". Keep the downtime short, and use Switch off automatically at for planned work.
