Troubleshooting

  • Components > Easy Events Calendar is missing

    • Confirm you installed pkg_easyeventscalendar_1.2.2.zip (not only the outer UNZIP). Reinstall if needed. Clear cache.

  • Menu page is empty

    • Publish events with start dates that fall in the view. Check category filters and access levels.

  • Module does not show

    • Check Published, Position, and Menu Assignment. Confirm the template has that position.

  • Images look soft on Cards

    • Raise Card image max width/height in Configuration (try 800×500), clear cache, hard-refresh.

  • Dashboard thumbs still large in Network tab

    • Confirm image settings are saved. First load builds images/cache/easyeventscalendar/. Hard-refresh after that.

  • Map is grey or popup is cut off

    • Hard-refresh after updating to 1.2.0+. Confirm locations have latitude and longitude. Popups scroll inside the map; click the list or pin again if needed.

  • Events Map or Module Map shows no pins

    • Link events to locations with latitude and longitude. OpenStreetMap needs no key. For Google Maps, set Map provider to Google and add a Maps JavaScript API key in Configuration (or on the menu/module). Clear cache, then hard-refresh.

  • Smart Search finds no events

    • Enable Finder - Easy Events Calendar under System > Plugins. Rebuild the index under Components > Smart Search.

  • Event detail map embed is blank

    • Paste allowlisted embed HTML on the event, or use a location with coordinates so the interactive map can place a pin. Clear cache.

  • Old look after changes

    • Save, clear Joomla cache, then hard-refresh (Ctrl+F5).

  • Event URLs show /component/easyeventscalendar/

    • Create or edit a menu item of type Easy Events Calendar > Calendar month (not Calendar Dashboard). Set the alias you want, Display in Menu = No if hidden, Access Public. Clear cache. See the Friendly URLs tab.

  • Dashboard module month links go to the wrong page

    • Update to 1.0.2+. Month and year controls update in place and no longer depend on Dashboard menu item. Clear cache after updating.

  • Dashboard module shows empty month grid

    • Set Display mode to Calendar Dashboard (not Upcoming). Match Advanced > Layout to dashboard. Clear cache.
