First-time setup

You can finish a homepage slider in a few minutes.

1. Create the module

1. Go to Content > Site Modules > New.
2. Choose Revealing Photo Slider.
3. Set a Title, for example Featured photos. The title also becomes the slider name for screen readers, so keep it even if you hide it.
4. Pick a Position that exists in your template.
5. On Menu Assignment, choose the pages where it should appear.
6. Set Status to Published.

2. Add slides

1. Open the Slides tab.
2. Leave Slide source on Manual slides.
3. Click the green plus button and pick at least three images from Media Manager.
4. Fill Alternative text. Add an optional tag, title, text, and link.

3. Pick an effect

1. Open Behaviour and choose a Reveal effect. Circle is the default.
2. Leave Autoplay on with a 5000 ms interval, or turn it off for a manual slider.

4. Save and check the front end

1. Click Save.
2. Open the assigned page in a normal browser tab.
3. Clear cache and hard-refresh (Ctrl+F5) if the look seems stale.

Student tip

Change one field, Save, then refresh the front end. That is the fastest way to learn what each option does.
