What does Easy Preview As do?
It lets an administrator open the public site as Guest or as one or more user groups, so you can see menus, modules, and articles the way that group sees them. It does not create a user and it does not log you in as someone else.
Does a preview change any user account?
No. Passwords, groups, and other accounts stay as they are. The preview is read-only: forms and logins are blocked until you exit.
Can I preview the administrator area?
No. Preview opens the public site only. Requests to the administrator area are not served as a preview.
Can I preview Super Users?
No. Super User groups are never listed. Manager and Administrator are hidden unless you turn on Allow privileged groups in Configuration.
Who can start a preview?
Super Users can start a preview. Other groups need the Start Preview permission. On a new install, the Administrator group receives that permission. Manage Presets is a separate permission.
How long does a preview last?
Until the session time you set in Configuration, or until you click Exit on the site toolbar. The choices are 15, 30, 60, and 120 minutes. The default is 30 minutes.
What is a preset?
A preset stores a name and a set of groups. From the dashboard you can start that combination again without ticking the groups each time.
Which Joomla versions are supported?
Joomla 4, 5, and 6, with PHP 8.1 or newer. The package is English only.
