Which Joomla versions does Randomizer 1.5 support?

Randomizer 1.5 supports Joomla 4, 5, and 6 with a service provider, dispatcher, namespace, Web Asset Manager assets, and PHP 8.1 or later recommended.

What is the difference between Module Mode and Article Mode?

Module Mode renders one random published site module from a pool you configure. Article Mode loads filtered articles and displays them as a list, grid, or carousel.

Can Randomizer include itself in the module pool?

No. Randomizer is excluded from the selectable module list and from renderable candidates, so it cannot nest itself.

How do I rotate banners or promo modules?

Create a Randomizer module, set Mode to Module Mode, add your promo modules to Select Modules, assign a position, and publish. One pool member is shown per page load.

How do article filters work?

In Article Mode you can filter by categories, tags, featured-only, exclude article IDs, and exclude the current article on article pages. Results also respect publish dates, access levels, and language.

Which article display styles are available?

Choose Default List, Grid Layout (1 to 6 columns), or Carousel. Carousel uses Bootstrap 5 with optional indicators, controls, captions, and interval.

Can I show full article text instead of an intro?

Yes. Enable Show Article Text and set Show Full Article to Yes. When Show Full Article is No, Text Max Length controls truncation (0 means no limit and keeps HTML).

Does caching work with random ordering?

No. Caching applies only when Order By is not random, so random selections stay fresh on each load.

Why does the same article keep appearing on an article page?

Enable Exclude Current Article (default Yes), or add that article ID to Exclude Articles. Clear cache if you are using a non-random order with caching enabled.

Does Randomizer require jQuery?

No. Core behaviour uses native JavaScript and Joomla's Bootstrap carousel asset when needed. There is no jQuery dependency for Randomizer 1.5.
