Which Joomla versions does Easy Meta support?
Easy Meta supports Joomla 4, 5, and 6 with PHP 8.1 or later. GD is recommended so social images can be generated at 1200 by 630.
What does Easy Meta do?
It writes Open Graph, X Cards, optional Pinterest helpers, canonical, robots, and optional Schema.org JSON-LD. Editors override metadata on the article Meta tab and see live share previews. Duplicate template tags can be stripped.
Is this the same as Easy Share?
No. Easy Share is on-page share buttons. Easy Meta is the preview metadata those shares render. Install both if you want buttons and cards.
Will it duplicate Helix Open Graph tags?
Keep Overwrite existing social tags on. Easy Meta strips duplicate og, twitter, canonical, and robots tags outside its own block.
Joomla already has schema. What should I do?
Schema mode defaults to Off. Switch to Easy Meta or Replace core only after you check Google Rich Results. Replace core removes Joomla Article JSON-LD when Easy Meta outputs its own.
Facebook still shows an old image.
Facebook caches og:image. Generated files use a content hash. Scrape the URL with Facebook Sharing Debugger after you change the image.
How do I copy settings to another site?
Use Export JSON on the plugin form, or paste a JSON object into Runtime JSON overlay.
Does it change my document title?
No. Easy Meta writes social tags and canonical. It does not rewrite the HTML title tag in v1.
What file do I install?
Download EasyMeta_UNZIP.zip. Unzip it, then install plg_system_easymeta_1.0.0.zip from System > Install > Extensions.
