Which Joomla versions does Easy Redirects support?

Easy Redirects supports Joomla 4, 5, and 6 with PHP 8.1 or later.

What does Easy Redirects do?

It manages redirect rules (exact, starts-with, wildcard, regex), logs 404s with hit counts and referrers, creates redirects when aliases change, and imports CSV or core Redirect maps. Optional branded 404 and URL Tester are included.

Is this the same as Joomla core Redirect?

No. Core Redirect is exact match only and a raw 404 collector. Easy Redirects adds match types, a useful 404 log, alias auto-redirect, import/export, chain tools, and a URL Tester. Import core rules, then disable System - Redirect if Easy Redirects is your only manager.

Do I need both plugins?

Yes. System - Easy Redirects runs matching and 404 capture. Content - Easy Redirects watches article, category, and menu alias changes. The package installs the component and both plugins together.

Will it work with System - Page Cache?

Yes. The system plugin installs at ordering -10 so it runs before Page Cache. Keep that order if redirects stop after you reorder plugins.

How do I test a rule before publishing traffic?

Open Components > Easy Redirects > URL Tester, paste a path or full URL, and run the test. You will see which published rule would win.

Can I import thousands of migration URLs?

Yes. Use Import for CSV (with dry-run), core Redirect, or Apache rules. Export is available from the same screen.

What file do I install?

Download EasyRedirects_UNZIP.zip. Unzip it, then install pkg_easyredirects_1.0.3.zip from System > Install > Extensions.
