What does Responsive Nivo Slider do?

It shows a responsive image slideshow with captions, optional links, fade/slide/fold/zoom transitions, and dot or thumbnail pagination.

Does version 2.0 require jQuery or the old Nivo library?

No. Version 2.0 uses vanilla JavaScript and custom CSS. The old jQuery Nivo files are removed from the package.

Which transition effects are available?

Fade, Slide, Fold, Zoom, and Random. Legacy Nivo names such as sliceDown or boxRain still map to Fold or Zoom so existing modules keep working.

Can I load images from a folder?

Yes. Set Source to From Folder and enter a relative path such as images/gallery/. Supported extensions: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, webp.

Will my slides survive an upgrade from 1.5?

Yes. Slide rows, folder path, pagination, and motion settings use the same parameter names.

How do thumbnails work?

Enable Pagination, set Pagination Type to Thumbnails, and use at least two slides. Thumbnail images use the same slide image source.

What does height auto do?

Setting Slideshow Height to auto uses a responsive aspect ratio instead of a fixed pixel height, which works well on fluid layouts. On phones, fixed heights are also capped to a 16:9 band so the stage does not dominate the screen.

Why is autoplay paused?

Pause On Hover stops while the pointer or focus is on the slider. Reduced-motion browser preferences also disable autoplay.
