Installation

Install the package

1. Download and unzip the Easy Helpdesk package from JoomlaX.
2. Log in to the Joomla administrator.
3. Open System > Install > Extensions.
4. Upload pkg_easyhelpdesk_1.0.29.zip (version number may differ on your download).
5. Wait for success messages for the component and Task - Easy Helpdesk plugin.
6. Open Components > Easy Helpdesk to confirm the dashboard loads.
7. Clear Joomla cache and your browser cache.

What the package installs

• com_easyhelpdesk component (administrator and site)
• plg_task_easyhelpdesk for scheduled mail fetch and SLA sweep routines
• Default email templates (component defaults, not live sample tickets)
• Nested administrator sidebar menu items synced on install and update

Uninstall note

Remove Easy Helpdesk Package from System > Manage > Extensions. Uninstalling the component or Task plugin alone is blocked when they belong to the package.

Updates

Updates arrive through the JoomlaX update server on the package. Install newer pkg_easyhelpdesk zip files the same way as the first install.
